Hello all present and past “Salty” Flyrodders:
We have moved our meetings and base of operation to appropriate facilities located at VFW 9592 at 55 Hickory Lane in Levittown, New York 11756.
Our next meeting is on Wednesday April 18, 2018 at 7:15pm.
Our featured event will be a program by Dan Damiani, Fly fishing manager of Orvis Long Island. He will be presenting a discussion on fly rod construction and design as well as flyfishing 101. Dan is an avid outdoorsman who has been hunting and fishing since he was old enough to walk. His father jokes that he was born with a bow in one hand and a rod in the other. He has been a part of the outdoor industry selling sporting goods for the last 9 years. Dan’s work at Orvis exemplifies that his passion is embraced by his career as the fishing manager of Orvis Westbury. If you can’t find him at the store tying flies or teaching fly fishing classes, your best bet would be to check the streams and woods of sunny Long Island.
We will also hold a discussion on trips, fishing events, and a general outline of our 2018 activities.
