Long Island native, fly fisherman, and professional fly tyer, Mike Ozkaya, owner of LI FLIES, will be our guest at the April meeting and tying some of his “go-to” flies.
If you are interested in casting practice, please come around 6:30 p.m. and bring your rod.
Thank you to JON FISHER of URBAN ANGLER for giving the Salty’s a table on April 4th at the Fly Fishing Film Festival in NYC where Vice President, Brian Brown, club member, Mitch Gross, and President, Dave Yagerman spoke to enthusiastic potential new club members, as well as existing members. The films were fantastic and URBAN ANGLER did a great job. I highly recommend this event for next year.
Striper season opens
Striper season in NYC officially opens on Monday, April 15th and we will be discussing our first club trip at the April 17th meeting along with other club business.
Our February meeting was rescheduled because of bad weather — it will now be held on Tues the 26th at River Bay Outfitters

Captain David Blinken is Coast Guard licensed and a certified casting instructor from the Federation of Fly Fishers. He has been flyfishing for over 40 years, most of which were spent on the south shore of Long Island’s now fabled waters. Captain Blinken will guide you to the hot spots and assist you in having an exciting fishing experience.
